After seven years of research and writing and film production, I put the movie on ice during Covid. Then on rewatching my work last year, I decided to finish up just the first half of the movie, a manageable bite of the work. This turned into six more months of finalizing illustrations and animations.

I have heard how important the sound is to a film. So I decided to hire an excellent audio company to make music by Bonnie Rideout shine. Ott House Audio did a great job, and this month the movie is finally finished! It can be watched online at Patreon.com/YellowDot.

I have submitted it to the Alexandria Film Festival for this November. I am waiting to hear if it will be accepted. The movie is a "short," at 25 minutes. I could not be more pleased that I finally have something to show for all those years of work. Hopefully you can join me in September!

Yellow Dot Shop now in Fairfax

I had a number of small trips earlier this year, which was wonderful, but it distracted me from signing up for certain markets. With new movie-making expenses, I suddenly needed those events, and was too late to get in! I heard about a market in the historic section of Fairfax, and decided to give it a try. The Yellow Dot van now makes more distant markets possible. Fairfax turned out to be a lovely market with many interesting people. Fairfaxers love hats and love to read! So, I have a new plan to expand my printed shirts to include new topics, beyond Alexandria. I will be busy designing new art in the coming weeks. There will be a mad scramble of t-shirt printing at Yellow Dot for the coming season!

Hats are Flying

In the Spring I ordered brightly colored hats. Pink and yellow, white and bright blue. By the end of July, all these hats had wandered off to new owners in Fairfax, West End Alexandria and Del Ray. So I have new hats, and this bunch are subtle and neutral colors. Tans and blues for late Summer and Autumn. Come see me at the market to try on a hat!
