Painting Leads to Bridge Designer: I have found the designer of Alexandria's Wilson Bridge! I have painted this bridge several times over the years. Recently we had our first market of 2026 indoors. At my table I met Fred Gottemoeller, whose wife casually mentioned that he had designed the bridge that was on my painting. Hark! As I was painting it last Summer, I mused to myself that it sure would be nice to meet the designer of the fantastic Woodrow Wilson Bridge. As promised I have been painting up a storm this January. This dragon was inspired by the dragon used for a Welsh soccer team, one that is featured in a favorite TV show, "Welcome to Wrexham." I have been watercolor painting! My latest project has been a juxtaposition of shapes. This is Alexandria's new refurbished merchant ship, Tall Ship Providence, sailing towards the amazing Wilson Bridge. The bridge itself is a wonder in concrete. The Shapes these two make seem to compare in an interesting way. And the sky! I have been photographing skies. The sky is such an impossibility to really reproduce, so I made it continue the lines of the bridge and ship with contrails and clouds. I am using a limited color palette here with only one warm color, and all the rest...

Movie Project in the News I spent over an hour telling the earnest twenty one year old reporter my life story. She heard about my transition to computer design, and how I was inspired to tell this story of Scottish migration to our new world of America. A young photographer came to my stall at the Market. Neighboring vendors were amused as I posed for an extensive photo shoot around the van. The final photo here shows me at the back of my van with 'Of Scottish Descent' t-shirts. The youngsters who wrote the article and took the photos both have...
