Time Off and Book Projects My first time printing on boxes! Tree branches and hearts adorn wood or cardboard gift boxes. They come with individually wrapped cookies and brownies, and two stuffed felt hearts. The design on my new t-shirts is hand-drawn hearts, bubbles and the word, "Love." It's a multi-color print in metallic and white ink. I grew up wearing this kind of scarf made of soft cotton, the same cloth diapers are made of! This is before I printed red hearts onto the scarf. They come in 3 colors, including striped. Time Off and...

How fast 2022 went by. Here we are, half way through December. Yesterday it was Summer and I was driving through Scotland to buy Harris Tweed in the northwest most corner of the country. With the tweed I have sewed two purses and many hats, most of which have sold! My other big adventure this year was a trip to New York City, where I bought new items for the Shop. Art on the Avenue in Del Ray is in its 27th year! I remember before the event began, when Del Ray was still an upcoming place. This festival has grown to stretch almost the entirety of Mount Vernon Avenue, and has thousands of visitors. I have only been a vendor at Art on the Avenue one other time, when I published my calendar, Driving to Pittsburgh. I sold 29 calendars that day, which is probably more than anyone sells of anything, non-food. Last Winter while I was in my indoor retail space on Mount Vernon Ave, the first emails...
Oct. 14: New Shirts, Scarves and Hats

My new design for shirts and sweatshirts has been quite a hit. The shirts were first shown at Taste of Old Town North in late September. The event, on a grassy lawn in Montgomery Park, had vendors and live performances. My t-shirts are in bright colors for adults and kids, printed in gold and other inks. I also had the 2nd Edition of my book, A Scottish Migration to Alexandria, printed bags and framed art. I have been at two markets lately, on lower King Street, and at West End Market. I ordered thick, Hanes EcoSmart sweatshirts and printed...
