My neighboring county Arlington, Virginia is full of interesting people, places and things. And yet I have never been in a market there - until now! This May I tried out Columbia Pike Farmer's Market. It is in Pike Park at the corner of S. Walter Reed Drive and Columbia Pike. They have shade trees, live music, lots of good vendors, and they have been there for thirty years! They have been under new vigorous management since last year, and I was pleased to see good turn-out from the community with lots of shoppers! I was showing my new paintings, Spring scarves, Mother's Day cards and Summer hats. My new painting called "Virginia Dogwood" was sold to a young couple. I have added this market to my roster and will be there Sunday mornings from 9am to 1pm.
It has been great to meet many Arlingtonians, including people I know from years ago, and nice musicians, who play near my tent. Taylor Ruckle, seen in the video above, was singing beautifully on my first day, Mother's Day.
