Ellen's new painting of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge

Watercolor or gouache, on paper, indoor painting or outdoors, I have been painting up a storm! I'm looking forward to working with new colors, shapes and topics. I bought a new book on outdoor painting, for the Spring. You can see my work so far at yellowdotshop.com.

January and February Projects

I have only a few more outdoor markets to go! This weekend I have three days in Del Ray, in the outdoor side yard at Gustave Boulangerie on Mt. Vernon Ave. (See times below). I am already selling out of certain sizes in shirts, but I have plenty of Del Ray shirts.

After the holidays, I have found that people are not buying as much, so I will take some time to work on new items for Spring, and do some painting. I have a plan to produce gift bags for sale. I'm rather thrilled at coming up with a new design to print on paper bags, add matching tissue paper, and make 4-packs of gift bags! I was itching to jump into this project this month, but I find that taking on a new thing at the last minute is probably bad planning. So new bags will be for general gift giving. I can do holiday-themed bags later for next Winter.

New Harris Tweed Beret

The last of my Harris tweed that I drove to the Isle of Harris to buy, is being used here. One piece of each tweed is sewed into the front band. I put elastic around the whole head-band, so this hat can be worn in any direction!

My Santa-style, gray stocking cap is made with fleece, a white faux-fur band, cotton lining and grown-up pom pom. I added cotton woven ribbon at the top and bottom for a traditional look.

My baker boy caps both have wool outer shells, and cotton linings. I put elastic in the back for a comfy fit. Very warm, and my favorite style of hat.

'A Scottish Migration' is now on YouTube

I decided to make my movie on Scottish migration to America available to everyone, so you can now watch for free on Youtube. I still hope for visits to the Patreon page to see my other videos on the project. Visit Ellen's Patreon page. I just sold the last of my printed books! I hope to do a reprint in the new year.
