Celebrating Presbyterian Meeting House 250th Anniversary
On Thursday evening, June 23rd, I will speak at Mount Vernon's Smith Auditorium, in the Visitor's Center. Afterwards I will sign copies of my book, A Scottish Migration to Alexandria. There are fewer than ten books left at Mount Vernon. But you can pre-purchase the 2nd Edition which is coming out this Summer. (US only. The first edition is still available in Britain.)

I will speak for about 15 minutes with slides. You will hear why so many Scots left their country to take the treacherous journey to America. William Gregory came to Alexandria in 1807. He was a member of the Presbyterian Meeting House. The Meeting House historian was very helpful on this project. He gave me materials which led me to Willam's descendants, who in turn sent me letters written by William himself.
Also speaking, will be David O. Smith, on his book, The Armstrong Brothers. After our presentations, we will have a discussion with questions and answers.
I hope you can come to Mount Vernon's Smith Auditorium in the Visitor's Center. There is plenty of parking, a great gift shop, a food court, a restaurant, and of course the mansion and estate of George Washington.
