Art Mart, Fun on the Potomac River

Canal Center Plaza is where I had my first job in Alexandria, at Kwik Kopy Printing in 1992. It has a great open space, a plaza for events, overlooking the Potomac River. Canal Center is next to the historic tide lock canal in Old Town North. They now have an art gallery and a performance space, the latter being on the same spot where I used to stand, operating Canon's first color copier! I am OLD!

Canal Center is hoping you will come visit and enjoy their space, which is more than just offices these days. They are having Art Mart events several times per year.

I have new items for the Fall season, printed, tie-dyed and more. I hope you can come and visit my tent and others on Friday, August 18th, from 5 to 9pm. They will have an outdoor bar, live music, and green space for lawn games. It is sure to be fun.

Scottish Games in September

On September 2nd I will be at The Plains, Virginia, Great Meadow for the annual Virginia Scottish Games. What a fun time! I will be there with the Scottish American Women's Society. I plan on taking some of my books, A Scottish Migration to Alexandria with me to sell. They will have live Scottish bands, heavy athletic competitions, Highland dance, pipe and drums, vendors, family tents, a parade, Scottish food, British Car Show, lectures, big trees and ample parking on the field. All are invited, and you can buy tickets in advance. The Games are Saturday and Sunday, all day.
