My latest handbag works for Halloween or every day. It has a bright red lining and three interior pockets. The largest pocket has a button closure which matches the outer button. A phone pocket and pencil pocket are on the inside as well. The flap comes from a Dracula costume! That fabric has a foam core and is also used to reinforce the buttons in a shape echoing the pointed flap. The quilting is sewed in undulating lines which gives this handbag its unique appearance. Yellow Dot Designs is not only designing printed items, but is now designing and producing quilted fabric handbags! A new pair of sewing scissors, and the sewing machine is out. My first purses incorporate re-used parts and re-imagined tie-dyed fabric. The interior linings are new cloth. Purses have snap closures, and interior zippers. Another online retailer has jacked the price up to an unreasonable amount. Brooke Stoddard is a local author whose writing really holds your attention.
